The main rivals of the console were Sony PlayStation 2, Xbox and Dreamcast made by Sega. It was released in the United States and Japan in 2001 and the following year in Europe and Australia. The console was designed completely to buy Nintendo and also referred to as DOL. Game Cube is a shorter term used to define Nintendo GameCube console for home usage.
